Does it matter what kind of Router you use for Xbox360 live?
I have a comcast Modem: Motorola SB5100
I was just wondering does it matter what kind of wireless router you use for xbox 360 live?
I’m pretty sure im going to go with the netgear but to make sure can any Router work with The Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter?
MOST routers will work with Xbox live and all will be able to use the Wireless Network Adapter. The biggest problem most people have had so far is with the Linksys WRT54G Router. Certain versions have no problems, while others have been impossible to connect. Turns out a new Firmware upgrade will now allow these people to connect if they disable UPNP on the router. I put this info out there because I have tried to help countless people with this issue. (Especially V2)
If you are really concerned about how compatible a router is, print out this sheet and take it with you when shopping. It lists the certified compatible routers, but more importantly, it lists the ‘incompatible’ routers as well.
