belkin router gateway
I want to connect my belkin router to my 2wire via wifi. Please help in detail.?
I have a belkin F5D7231-4 router and i want to connect it to my 2701HG-B Gateway so i can use the belkin in another room. Please note: I can Not get the dd-wrt firmware to work on my router.
With the firmware/software that Belkin supplied, you can’t! See page 65 of the manual

The “Belkin” bridge mode only works with other Belkin routers (you can try it but don’t expect it to work!)
You CAN update the firmware to DD-WRT http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
The Belkin will use that firmware. With the DD-WRT firmware you simply set the SSID and the encryption on the Belkin (as you would on your comupter) to connect to the 2wire. You can set it to “repeat mode” as well. IF you didn’t get DD-WRT to work, recheck the installation information, the firmware DOES work and works well. You might also try Open WRT, or Tomato firmware might be easier to install if you have issues with DD-WRT. (None of them are “easy”.)
Your other option is to run ethernet between them and use the Belkin as a “second router” or as just an access point.
